1. GNOME 3.36 and visual improvements
Ubuntu 20.04 comes with the new GNOME 3.36 which has a stunning look. The default wallpaper features the mascot itself. It offers you the option of changing the wallpapers if you want. Priple is the color of this release and you will this color a lot. Yaru is the defauth theme of 20.04. One can change from the default theme to the “Light” or the “Dark” theme from the “Appearance” settings.
The password filed comes with an eye icon that reveals the password on “click”.
2. Kernel 5.4
Ubuntu 20.04 Focal Fossa comes with Linux Kernel – 5.4. This kernel includes kernel lockdown, AUFSS, exFAT support and other upgrades like support for Intel, Rasberry Pi and AMD hardware. This makes Ubuntu capable of handling upcoming technologies. 5.4 also includes virtio-fs – a high-performance, FUSE-based virtio driver for full OS virtualisation.
3. Faster installion and booting
With the use of better compresion algorithms, the boot time for Ubuntu 20.04 is less as compared to Ubuntu 18.04 as well as it takes less installation time.
4. Global Do Not Disturb
The notification area comes with a global “Do Not Disturb” setting, which is displayed when you click the on the clock in the top panel. This will help to disable all notifications.

For around 8 years Ubuntu came with a default Amazon App which did little for the user. The app has finally been removed in the latest version
